Group Audition Day

Following a successful first round video audition. Your three-part audition will be carried out in a day.

You’ll be asked to:
1. Take part in a series of workshops to test your abilities. The workshops include drama,
ballet, jazz and hip-hop/commercial dance styles.
2. Perform a solo song, monologue and dance routine. Your song, monologue and dance
should be around one minute each and you should prepare them yourself. This is your
chance to shine. We can’t wait for you to knock our socks off.
3. Attend an interview with our principals. We want to understand your goals and aspirations
for the future. Be yourself.

How to Prepare for Your Audition

Here are some words of wisdom from Savage Principal and Founder, Amy Matthews.

“Preparing for your audition means you’ll feel ready to attack this opportunity head on. We want the best of the best at Savage and your preparation tells us you’re ready to become part of our squad.

1. Research and practise different dance styles so you’re ready for the workshops.

2. Your solo performance is an opportunity for you to show us your wild side and talent.
Choose a song, dance and monologue that shows us what you can really do. Be creative.

3. Wear a comfortable outfit that allows you to move easily but don’t lose your style.
Extremely baggy clothes can sometimes restrict your movement.
4. Be confident. We’ve chosen you for an audition because we believe in your potential.

Take pride in your ability and let your passion for performance radiate.
Everyone you’ll meet at your audition wants you to succeed. There’ll be nothing but support and
kindness when you’re at Savage studios.”
